Tezha feel your pain tried to tarp ours on Saturday just too windy. It is -20 C or -4 F now and have already cleared 10" of snow off of it. Currently it already has 3” more on it. Will still try get it covered and may try to inside support idea.

Another idea if you're tarping, is to turn a large bucket over the top of the vent (if it circles the vent without crushing the lid). If it won't fit, put the bucket someplace else near the center of the roof. Putting the tarp over the top then allows a bit of an a-frame which MAY help the snow slide off.

Well you could bring it to S.W. Texas and park it in my yard, it snowed twice last winter and it was all gone by noon. Just a thought LOL!
