Hey Alf
Tree Stains you call them EH?
Now that age is catching up with me and the hair recedes, I thought those were liver spots.

I was parked under a walnut tree and had to use straight bleach - nothing else worked.

Bleche White tire cleaner and Mr Clean Magic Eraser sponges (or store brand) have taken out stains and marks that I thought were permanent. That combo even returns my wheel wells to white, after a winter's worth of neglect.
Hope this helps!

Hi: Palmer M...& Thanks. Is the Tire cleaner a foam type??? I am hesitant about using scouring cleaners as I don't want to affect the shine or the surface of the Gel Coat!!!

Alf, it's a liquid. Westley's Bleche White
I'm a member on a model building forum. There's been questions regarding Bleche White alternatives, mainly because some Canadians can't find it. Now, the topic has to do with removing models from molds... a cleanup cure for mold release. This is what they said:
Quote:
Westley's Bleche White is little more than a liquid trisodium phosphate solution (TSP). TSP is a phosphate detergent, used a lot in furniture refinishing, as well as household cleaners. Check your local supermarket for "Spic and Span", an old-line powdered cleaning detergent--this is almost pure TSP, and a strong solution of it should do the trick for you as well.
Another option is Naptha, which is a paint thinner (also cigarette lighter fluid!), that just about any paint store, or paint department of a home improvement store (or even Walmart!) carries. It degreases resin like "RIGHT NOW", and short dunks of resin into it won't hurt the resin either. This does need to be used in an area AWAY from open flame, preferably outdoors.
Personally I've had resin that Westley's didn't remove all the mold release. Easy Off heavy-duty oven cleaner works wonders. It's nasty stuff, but it will make your models squeaky clean and able to be painted properly.

If you use any of the aforementioned chemicals, I'd definitely want to test in an inconspicuous spot, some of these MAY dull the gel coat.

Hi: Donna...& Thanks. I have lots of TSP on hand just never thought of it. It depends how strong you mix it as to what it will do. I have used it to strip furniture& also to wash wallpaper paste off walls. Thanks for reminding me about it. I want the trailer to look purty for the Niagara Wine Tour next wknd.

Hi Alf: I don't know how it will or won't affect gelcoat but liquid TSP was the main cleaner used for the inside of our Boler. The pic below was taken halfway through removing the mold on our inside walls with one pass using it.

Rubber gloves, a sponge, and some elbow grease. Then a quick rinse with water.

Remember that other disciplines use fiberglass also, namely boats and sport cars like Corvettes.
This looks like it might be a good thing to try:

Has anyone had any experience with covers. We have a lot of Douglas Fir and I am concerned about our new Trillium.
