Just pulled the icebox in our newly acquired U-Haul CT13. Oops - no insulation. Plastic is pristine, doesn't look like any insulation was ever present. I'm planning on replacing it, so no big deal, but was it actually installed without insulation?
Also, it was just slid into opening so only support was the fiberglass of the cupboard front. New one will have supports from trailer bottom to icebox.

Mine is encased in styrofoam and is held in place only by the mounting bolts around the face trim of it. No floor supports.
If you don't want the icebox, you might want to see if anyone wants it. Or, you could use the door somewhere else in the trailer.

Yes, see if other UHaul owners might want it.

Mine has about 1" styrofoam box. I was thinking about adding to it, but I need a new door gasket. They are the same as a fridge so off to the hardware!

I seen a kit somewhere that allows you to convert an icebox to a fridge but I forgot where I saw it, wasn't cheap though but less than a new fridge...
