Y'all need pipe cleaners.
And don't most women love a man who smokes a pipe.
No, I don't smoke ... so why am I talking about pipe cleaners?
Well, over the years, I've found that you can effectively clean a lot of little places on an RV ... especially this time of year ... when spiders are looking to nest almost everywhere.
Spiders especially love the smell of
propane. And as anyone with a
propane BBQ grill knows, spiders love to spin their nests into venturi pipes.
Same things true with RV's. Spiders love to build nests in your hot water heater and
refrigerator pilot
light area. Even if you haven't run the appliances, the scent of
propane lingers enough to attract them.
I used to take everything apart to clean them a couple of times a year ... but I always ended up with a left over screw or two, so I devised a method using a couple of pipe cleaners.
And you can too. Just take two of them, twist the ends together to double the length (be careful of the sharp metal ends, because they can scratch metal!) ... then carefully feed the pipe cleaner into the venturi pipe area of the water heater ... often you'll pull out a clump of spider nest.
Same things true with your
refrigerator pilot
light area and flue.
Now you gotta be careful here, because if you dislodge something in the flue, it could
fall and clog the pilot
light orifice. But twirl the double-length pipe cleaner up the flue a little ways ... then pass it over the orifice to clean even the smallest, almost invisible web.
I guarantee you'll always keep a package of pipe cleaners ... because they really work slick!
