1975 Scamp 13' No FL Title
Does anyone know if it will be difficult to obtain a title for a 75 Scamp in Florida? It does have a VIN and Minn bar code thing.

Hi Donna, Yes this is this is the badly deteriorated unit I posted about before. I have pics of the VIN and the Minn tag, but none of the actual trailer yet. It would be a big, difficult project, so I am slow playing it--half hoping someone else will buy it before I have to.

well if you have a problem you could register it in the stateof maine as a homebuilt utility trailer but it might be a problem down the road selling it. I did it for my homebuilt trailer cause I lost the oem certificate from harbour freight and they told me 6 months to get anew one... called maine trailer registration (800)883-5181 registered it as a homebuilt utility trailer...I gave them my vin# or they can give you one to put on the trailer. Just a thought

Np David, I figure if you absolutely strike out getting the title for it and your gutting an oldone and redoing it its almost like a homebuilt lol. Figure another option is always good!

Do you live in FL? No title?
If you register it in Florida, you need a Certified Weight/Scale Ticket. Call your local Tax Collector Office for a Scale Co. they recognize/recomend.
Then if it is under 2000 lbs you will be issued a registration. No Title needed or issued.
Very easy.

She looks rough all right, but if I'm reading the somewhat dim price on the For Sale sign right, she's also priced to allow for it!

David, if the trailer was ever registered in Florida, go to the DMV, they will be able to tell you the last registered owner. Take your paper work, along with a bill of sale, so DMV knows you are purchasing the trailer, if it was stolen you will find out, with out being responsible. Normally the DMV personnel are helpful , now good luck ;;;;Grant

gfssr is correct. If it was ever registered they will have a record. Also I wonder if Scamp has records going back that far.

I've seen/owned a lot worse. Now the real question, is the Barracuda next to it for sale?

Only if it comes up in the conversation. I have a neighbor who is always looking for Mopar projects. I know he just missed a Cuda deal last year and I heard about it for months.
Thanks Eddie

I didn't mention it but others have -- of course you will need a Bill of Sale. A proper official looking one always goes down well.

Ok, Clive, I will probably print one out myself for the seller to sign, assuming we come to terms.

Bob Miller if I know that I have to replace the axle before I buy, and if they cost $500 or more the deal is off. Is there something in the pics that leads you to think 'new axle'?
