Wonderful thanks Dudley, I just keep standing in the camper and looking at it hoping I could figure out a magical solution.

The wood is 3/4 so thinking 3/4" square aluminium tubing would do the trick. How did you bend it? Was it difficult ? I know it isnt much of an angle but how did you find it?

Also when you braced the roof was it only temporary until the aluminium was in place?
So for instance, brace the center with a 2x4 screw in the aluminium and then remove the wood?

Last question, how many pieces of aluminium did you use? There are about 5 places I feel I would want to brace to really support it.
Let me know your thoughts, and thank you so much for your guidance!

The 3/4 inch stuff bends fairly easy, I think I just put in in a vise and gave it a tug, did this in a few spots to get a gentle arc and test fit it. I think I used 3, did the one bout a fooft from the rear, one by the vent and one by the door. I think (have a great memory just real short). but that was just me, the more the merrier, the main thing is to get the roof arched again for rain run off and to brace it if stored outside in the winter.

The bracing was just a 2x4 bracing against the wood, cut it a little oversize and wedge it to force the arch in the roof or you could also use a small bottle jack and a 2x4

New insulation, new wiring, moved propane tank mounting spot, supported the roof with aluminium tubing and starting to get some color on her!

Starting to see progress here!

The box on the front is going to house 2 6v Trojan T-105 batteries, 30amp fuse panel and battery charger.
Also installed an outdoor plug as you can see for convenience :-)
Refurbished the rock guard, replaced the old sheets with that plastic used for lean to's (spelling??). It is really strong with and has UV protection!

Cleaned all of the aluminium I could, windows, belly band, ect..
New trim on belly band and windows as well.

Ventura rebuild

Hi Shawn,
I know it is about a year ago that you were working on your trailer but I am just beginning to tackle mine and have a few questions that I hope you can answer. I am thinking of moving my kitchen to the front as well and am wondering if you think doing so has affected the weight distribution and handling of your trailer.
Do you recall how you lifted the floor? just by prying or did you cut away sections?
Thanks.
