1978 vintage RM211 dometic shelf retainers

The wire shelf's in these Dometic RM211's have plastic retainers and two locking pins per retainer.
The shelf's can't be removed with the retainers in place.
Anyone know how to remove these retainers in order to remove the steel wire shelf's to clean the fridge inside.
My wire shelf's deposited rust marks inside the fridge.

It may not be the correct way, but those retainers flex. I just forced it.

Dave, Thanks for the help.
I used a narrow putty knife and carefully lifted the end of the retainer to the top of the steel rod and the shelf came out.
