1981 Trillium holding tank/toilet fix

We have a 1981 Trillium 5500 (18 feet) with separate toilet and shower and a black water holding tank which leaks. Naturally the prior owner failed to mention this item (really wouldn't have made any difference as we loved the trailer and would have bought it anyway). At this point my idea , rather than replacing the holding tank, is to remove the holding tank altogether and install a Scamp/Casita type toilet (the one where the actual holding tank is immediately under the toilet and inside the trailer). Reasons: replacing the holding tank is kinda a lot more labor intensive, at least it seems so. Also having the major portion of the holding tank inside would seem to make cold (not below zero cold) weather camping more feasible. I would appreciate input from anyone who has tackled this or a similar installation. As always pictures would be appreciated. Thanks for your assistance. Lee

Lee, I changed my black tank with one from Shirlon Plastics in Cambridge Ontario, I went with the under trailer mount.
I also added a grey tank, to make my life easier.
i will try to pull up my drawings and the way i went about it for you.

Joe

FYI in May of 2011 "Manufacturing work done at Shirlon Plastics Inc. is moving to Milton as a result of the Cambridge company’s acquisition by NS Technologies Group Inc."

Don't think it really makes any difference Lee. Either way, the discharge valve is outside and needs to be protected from freezing. I do know, if you go with the marine toilet, you'll need to be aware of "seat" height. Some find their legs dangle when seated on the throne (TMI!)
