1984 Scamp 13 Wiring 4 Pin Flat

Yikes, how hard can this be? I have a 1984 scamp 13 and am trying to attach a 4-pin flat male connector which will attach to my tow vehicle equipped with a 4-pin flat female. There's only 4 wires. I have assumed that matching color to color would work but I end up with some crazy results. Attached are photos of my test connection for trouble shooting. The vehicle has two side lights and two rear lights with two bulbs each, one single fulfillment (bottom) and one with dual filament (top). Here' what I get from this wiring:

LT = Both bottom rear bulbs (small) flash
RT = Both top rear bulbs (large, one filament only) flash
Head lights = Right rear top bright (both filaments) only
Brake = Right side light, both rear top single filament and no left side light
Emergency flasher = all bulbs flash

How is this even possible? This must be rocket science. Any help is most appreciated.

First, what is your TV and how was the flat 4 spliced in....
Have you used the TV's flat four connector with another trailer? Some TV's require special modules to convert the TV's wiring to be compatible with a flat 4 trailer wiring.

Next... If that's verified with a test light, the Scamp is 30 years old and hard telling what kind of creative wiring was done. Use a multi meter to ID the ground and connect that, then connect the rest of the wires one at a time to find the lead that has the correct light(s) on the other end.

The connection on the TV was installed professionally for a utility trailer I have and follows the typical 4 wire color scheme. It works just fine with that.

Your one-at-a-time testing method will be my next attempt, thanks.

Some of the results I was getting just doesn't make sense to me - how it's even possible.

After reviewing the Scamp manual and schematic (duh) I figured it out. For anybody else that may want to add a 4 pin flat to their trailer here is how I did it.

Tow Vehicle (TV) White to Trailer White = ground
TV Yellow to Trailer Red = left turn
TV Green to Trailer Brown = right turn
TV Brown to Trailer Green = running lights

Bonus: Do it late at night like I did so you get that added sense of satisfaction seeing all the lights work as they should.

GROUND

Hook up the ground wire. Looks like the green wire is not connected to anything. 12 volt dc goes coocoo without a good ground.
