1987 (approximately)Bigfoot B-17
Does anyone with a trailer of this vintage know the black and grey water tank sizes?
My sources tell me they are both 8 gallons. Very small....

dump your tanks.
keep pouring 1G jugs of water into the toilet until its nearly full to the valve. thats your black capacity.
keep pouring 1G of water into the shower until it backs up, don't count the last G, thats your grey capacity.
now dump again.

Yours may be different, but the 1994 sales info lists the following;
Fresh water-27.5 gal
Grey water- 19 gal
Black water 8.5 gal

tank size
Jack L has the best answer so far. my owners manual on the 1983 17' said 20 to 28 gal . might be imperial gal ? no other info in the manual on tank size.

\One thing I like about this method is you never know whether your tanks are original size anyway. Good chance they are, but maybe not.

Good point. The black tank is usually part of the entire toilet assembly. Also don't forget that the drain pipe itself holds a gallon or so of black water.

We used to have a 1987 17’ Bigfoot and as I recall the fresh water tank was 28 gal. and the black water tank was 9 gal., according to the owner’s manual. I don’t remember the figure for the gray water. The owner’s manual went with the trailer to the new owner so I can’t go look up the specs for you.

complicated.....
from the beginning to 1989 or so BF built those trailers with several options....some with hot water heaters/showers...some without... some with porta-potties.....(???)..(after 90 they were all built the same, no options)
..the trailer should still have the documentation page glued inside the trailer somewhere....
of you could go the jug route.....good luck....
