1992 Scamp Fixer, need advice on some needed parts

Bought yesterday, totally stoked! First ever trailer.
Here she is:

Some things that it needs are:

Water storage tank. It is not there and I don't know what it should look like. It is one of those pump faucets.

Covering for outside outlets, see photos:



Frame for escape hatch:


Would these be parts I would buy direct?

Also, I noticed some of my knobs are round, some square, is that common? Just curious mostly.

Here is a replacement fittings for the one you have labeled as "drain outlet". They are available from a number of sources online and also from local RV supply stores. Keywords -- exterior evacuation drain port 3/4. This is the size you can screw a garden hose end onto.


This one has a barbed fitting that a drain hose slides onto and it is then further secured by a hose clamp over that area. Part number is "Camco 37271"

Use butyl putty tape under the fitting when installing it.

In case you want to search for the best price use Keywords --- power cord replacement hatch and make note of the exact shape match so you can reuse the same mounting holes. This one shown below looks to be an exact match to your original. Click on the title above the photo, it is a link to a supplier.

You can change the cabinet knobs and put on new ones, looks like the previous owner did that to some of them

Thank you for the information, I will order some of those parts and use that putty you suggest.
Yes, I will likely get all matching knobs...I just want to go with all Scamp knobs. I wonder if the round ones are the originals or the square?

The frame around the inside of the escape hatch is stock outside corner molding, stained and mitered to fit. It screws to the hatch body. I'd have to check the width- I'd estimate around 1".

On power cords, since you need a new hatch anyway, this is a great opportunity to go with a detachable power cord!

Detachable cords are really sweet. First, you don't have the problem of trying to shove a cord into a spot in one of your cabinets. Invariably, it gets caught on something. Secondly, you don't lose storage space in the camper to a power cord (keep the detachable cord in your tow vehicle). Third, they can be better sealed against leaks, mice, bees, whatever.

Of course, never use silicone on a FG trailer, use butyl tape.

My water tank was missing, so I'm just looking to replace it with the 12 gallon as it had when new, but it's good to know about that company!

All parts ordered except for the escape hatch frame. Going to have to make that I think...well, have someone make it for me.

Totally happy with Scamp customer service, the parts sure seem reasonably priced to me.

Btw ; buy the butyl tape at a local glass company that installs window glass , windshields, etc.
Found them cheaper than ordering from Scamp and with no shipping cost .

It's me! I'm back from the Rally. Had to check out early because I registered too late as I am new to this. Had a GREAT time, wish I could have stayed.

I have made many of the repairs already that are in this thread.

Only repair left at this time is to sort out the 12 volt, some folks at the rally gave me some good ideas.

oh I thought you had bought yourself another one glad you had a good time.

Any problems with your running lights and such? I finally got my new 12v monitor and stuff moved to another circuit. when I first put it in it worked then stopped.

Couldn't figure it out so moved the line. Was to the point of moving the whole thing straight to the battery but got it done.

Now to have a neighbor make me some decals for the front and back for the 13f.

Here is my thoughts so far. In small print front and back stevie under that its ridiculous!

I think our little rigs look funny! I just love stevie!!
