2 way fridge.

I want to install a 2way fridge in my boler as mine came originally with an icebox.
Anyone installed one before? How did you do it with the outside vents? as mine doesn't have any.

how far are the vent apart top and bottom and what size were they?

this will all depend on the fridge you buy, once you know the size you have to work with, pick the fridge, and you can download an installation manual from the manufacturer web site which should give you your answers.

I would suggest going with a high quality 12v compressor fridge like those from ARB or the line that Dometic now carry, decent sized, efficient and portable.

The draw back is that they don't work from propane.

In the Document Center (left side of screen), under appliances/Refrigerators I have placed a Dometic document with all the info you need. PM me if you have more questions, I've done this a couple of times.

propane fridge

I checked ebay and amazon for mine its a chineese knockoff of dometic I had gas right there, installed it did a little venting work and it works great. We don't really use all those little fridges that much as I think about it I could have bougtht a lot of ice for what I paid for it.

but the aliner sold maybe due to that so no complaints here!

good luck

bob

ps dometics are expensive as you will find out

Study the installation instructions well before doing the work. As a great member here advised me when I was working to get my fridge to run better - read them, then read them again, see how well you understand them, read them again. Over a few day period. At their best the “side vent” fridge installations work marginally in really hot weather. The installation is very, very important. Vent location, baffling etc.

And obviously, be very cautious with the propane connections.

For some people ice boxes are a better plan. My experience, which isn’t exactly average, but not uncommon, is that propane fridges in rvs are quirky, expensive, and often cause a lot of grief and trouble.

Others seem to have no problems...
