2005 21' RB Torx head screws stripped

I was getting my trailer ready for the new travel season. I noticed that there were 2 loose torx head bolts(with a large flat washer on each) going through the flooring. One in the front under the table seats and one in the rear storage area under the bed. When I tried to tighten them I discovered that they were stripped as they would not tighten down. I am concerned that they are the bolts that holds the trailer body to the frame. I think that they were screwed into the frame (which was drilled and tapped).
As far as I can see the only option I have is to drill through the frame steel tubing and replace the original bolt with a longer bolt that will reach through the frame tubing and allow a nut to be put on the bottom.
If this is my only option I will need to get a 12"long drill bit to align the bolt holes and then drill the correct size from the bottom.
Has anybody else seen this issue and if so how did you handle it.

Rick

countersink head torx bit screws are common on flooring on cargo trailers and big dry van trailers. They are sometimes, but not always 1/4 - 20 thread. Many are an odd thread and are self tapping so they can be run in with a power driver. Too much power and the hole strips out and the screw won't tighten. This may be your situation. It may be possible to go to a larger size screw, you'll have to drill and tap the hole in the frame to accommodate the larger screw, probably 5/16-18 thread.
