5er's front jacks

One of them does not want to crank up? (or Down) shaft and gear turn with the crank but nothing happens..

Is it time to replace it or is there a simple fix?

I could not find replacements on Scamp's website.

If the curb side landing gear will not go up or down you most likely sheared off the small bolt on the shaft that links the two landing gear together. This bolt usually shears off if you raise the landing gear too high. Check to see if the link shaft spins on the langing gear input shaft.
Easy fix just make sure both landing geat are extended the same distance and reinstall a new bolt and self locking nut. If the input shafts on both jacks are turning with the link shaft then you have gear box issues.

Yeah the shaft and shear pins on both ends are fine.. FWIW it is the driver side jack that is not working, and as you said I am guessing it's gear box

There are two major makers of 5er jacks, Atwood is a primary manifacturer, google atwood jacks, follow the links to parts. Good luck, I can't think of the other, someone will chime in

I never had one torn down but sometimes in gear boxes the the gears have shear pins attaching them to the internal shafts. I would pull it apart before ordering a new landing gear. Let us know what you find.
Good luck
Eddie
If your landing gears are Atwood, American RV and others have gear kits with pins for about $50. You will need have the P/N of your landing gear before ordering the correct gear kit.
