For those of you in the know....on Ebay there is a '78 Scamp with front and back windows that open! Wow, would I love windows like that in my '76 Scamp. Does anyone know if they are original? Could I possibly find some to fit my Scamp?
Are the openings the same size?
I notice that they seem to have a metal edge, possibly screwed or rivited on. My Scamp just has a black rubber seal around the windows which are one piece plexiglass.
What do you think?

Interesting! Someone should call Scamp and ASK. I thought there was a recent topic that discussed the curve of the back area on older Scamps. The reason for the plexiglass, is glass windows aren't curved and would leak. Seems to me the topic said Scamp changed to a flat back window area in the mid to late 1980s I have a 1988 and it's got a flat rear window area.

To the best of my knowledge, Scamp has always had a non-opening, compound curve, plexi front window.
Someone really clever would make them and sell them to Egg owners.
That said, it wouldn't take too much cleverness to come up with a wooden or fiberglass insert to change the compound curve flange into a flat mounting surface for a crank or slide window. I would expect the gravel shield to keep road rain out (my old Jayco, flat in front, had crank windows, a gravel shield and didn't leak).
Definitely has opening windows front and back, but look at the lengthy rain gutter over the back window...that's a bit of a clue that the window PERHAPS leaked and the owner was trying to send the water around the top of the window? Still like the idea tho...

Definitely has opening windows front and back, but look at the lengthy rain gutter over the back window...that's a bit of a clue that the window PERHAPS leaked and the owner was trying to send the water around the top of the window? Still like the idea tho...
The whole thing - windows plus rain gutter- looks just like the setup on my old Scotty trailer. Could windows from one kind of trailer be made to fit another type?
The sizes are different but my Scotty was a '68. Hmmmm

Yes. there are only a couple of manufacturers of RV windows, Hehr being the brand Scamp and Casita uses. And, there aren't that many different sizes... as long as it's the same size (or bigger), it shouldn't be much of a problem to change windows in/out. We've had a member actually put in smaller windows, with a bunch of fiberglass work! Just remember too, windows are expensive...

Actually, the windows aren't as expensive as the crating and shipping. Might make sense to Google and Yahoo 'rv salvage' and see what yards might be nearby.
I ordered the sliding back window for my trailer from Scamp. $140 for the window and $30 for S&H. Hehr wanted over $300 for the same window... straight from the manufacturer. After I choked on the price, I didn't bother to ask how much to ship it. For that price, I would have been perfectly happy keeping the solid plexiglass... or doing as Pete suggested and trying RV salvage

I have a 1988 and it's got a flat rear window area. 
For that price, I would have been perfectly happy keeping the solid plexiglass... or doing as Pete suggested and trying RV salvage
