Jim how does FF recommendation differ?

BTW you can also purchase the Fantastic Fan with 14 speed fan and a rain sensor, thermostat, reverse, and remote and purchase a cover to operate in the rain, so no need to change add anything yourself. Sounds like the FF ones you had were the basic models.

Thomas posted the ff pdf in post#10. Yes it seems every ff is the basic one unless you get the remote controlled one very $$$. Fantastic offers about 1/2 dozen models other than the top of the line one. Some with or without thermostat, reverse or non reverse, rain sensor or not. Clear or smoke lens. I have about 2 complete models in my garage from all the changes done in past 5 years to the units I had. I still have the double insulated lenses for winter use and the complete interior ring. Escape uses MaxxFan, which I like.

Never in doubt, often wrong

Thanks just wanted confirmation that the PDF Thomas posted was by FF and not a DIY facsimile.

When I started wanting to changeover to a larger fan for my casita, the first place I looked was fantastic fan. After I bought it, 3 speed, forward and reverse, and thermostat, I realized I would hit my head on it so started looking for a solution.

Found it under- installing a fantastic fan- page3 a riser from fiberglass tubing.perfect bought from mcmaster and away we go.

While waiting and reading found the resister and switch mod on a different site. WANDERTHEWEST.com has it under. fan-tastic vent mod from 3 to 6 speeds. In this same post is information on resisters also. This is what I used for my setup. What anyone else uses is their choice.
