A/C Shroud Solution

Has anyone found a creative homemade solution for a replacement a/c shroud for a lot less than the exorbitant $$$ for a piece of plastic that will also break eventually. I was thinking aluminum...

Standard look 23W / 33L / 10H I think $100+ for a glorified piece of plastic IS too much. Mine is an older Coleman unit; all we need is an upside down box...

Maybe you could just use the old one to make a fiberglass replica. Not too hard and surely will last longer than plastic. Check Youtube for how to do it videos.

I like your style Michigan! The tub looks interesting. I think I will make a fabric cover for now and deal with it later. I am sure I can make a better shroud for less than $50! - Thanks

PS the "old" shroud was destroyed and blown off by the stormy winds on the way to Mammoth CA during last week's ski trip!

The loss of the shroud can be prevented or at least greatly postponed by replacing the fender washers used to retain the cover with full length strips of aluminum. Each strip to be held in place by two of the original acorn nuts.

The restorer of this trailer made the aluminum Air Conditioner himself. That's the only way I know to get an aluminum one...

I removed the AC from the roof entirely since we use the trailer for ski trips now. When and if we'll camp in the summer I'll make a cover from aluminum.
