AC window unit question

I've seen several threads where people have built contraptions with wood and plexiglass etc. to temporarily install home window ac units through their camper windows when they get to the campground. Has anybody done this with a Scamp? If so, what brand and size unit did you use? I've been looking around, and the smallest I can find is a 16.75 width. That seems a little snug in the back window. Especially considering there is a little bit of a "lip" where the window and screen that slides over hangs in opening a bit.

Anybody have any suggestions? Or know of a smaller width ac?

In my experience "snug" is a good thing. You don't have too much open window to plug up that way. My Goldstar/Zenith 5000 BTU window air conditioner is 16.75 inches wide. Have you seen My Easily Remove-able Window Air Conditioner?

I don't have a Scamp, but I thought you needed some kind of answer after 40 looks.

Thanks Frederick,

Yes, your project was kind of my inspiration. I can see how snug would be good. I just thought maybe a little more wiggle room would be good when trying to get it in without breaking a window. 16.75 seems to be the standard. I guess we'll just have to be really careful getting it in there.
