Add A Awning Or Not

Hi, As anyone ever put a pole & rope awning to a Burro trailers? Do you think the Fiberglass will hold A section of awning rail?

I have seen several Burros that have awnings, the fiberglass will take an awning rail riveted on fine. A simple pole & rope awning would be the easiest to make, and I like their classic look. As it has to be removed for travel, it may pose the least stress to the body?

When putting up a awning rail you should use molly rivits. They spread out like a star and hold more. Put molly rivet in the search page for more info and pics.

I have those fastening my awning rail up. I found this during a search for "Molly Rivets" :
Gesipa - GAMD66ATF BLK - Tri-fold Rivets

I have a Uhaul (same config as the burro with double shell). I installed the rail with butyl tape under it, and 'blind' rivets through the outside shell (does not go through the inner shell). Installed quickly and simply. Using the combination of tape and rivets makes it very secure.
