Air Conditioned "Guest Room"

So I had this crazy idea. The AC units that they're putting on the new Scamps are WAY overpowered. I have a 14,000 BTU monster bolted to the top of my trailer right now, which is powerful enough to cool 500 square feet.

This summer, my wife and I plan to do some beach camping, and we'd like to invite an extra couple to go with us. But since our trailer is only 13', I was thinking of attaching a "guest room" to the outside, using one of these SUV tents. The idea is to attach it to the front of the trailer, prop the door open, turn the AC on high, and cool the tent along with the trailer.

Would this work? Or am I crazy?

It may work Mike but I would think you would need a fan in the trailer aimed out the door for any air to really go to the tent.

You will need a fan to keep help push the AC from inside camper to inside tent AND a fan inside the tent to keep the air moving. This we have done before & did need the 2 fans.

Our youngest DD & her family camp all the time in their tent, she has a room size window unit for it.She & my DH made a shut for the unit rather than buy one. She has used a portable AC unit( be sure it is the kind that evaporates the water,or you will have to empty it all the time) but the window unit COOLS her tent better, runs less and cools much better.

Happy Camping
