It may be an early Dometic, much like I have in my Hunter. It sounds like you are fooling with the flint spark lighter that's built in and operated with a little knob inside the refrigerator
As far as I could find the flint is an odd size and is no longer available. My solution was to drill a 3/8" hole near the burner for lighting
with a BBQ lighter and I made a cover that covers the hole after it lights
. You will also have to figure our how to hold the pilot safety switch ON while lighting
Did you try it on electric to be sure it works..... BTW: You may have to hold the pilot safety valve ON for a long time to wait for fuel to get to the burner.
