It may be an early Dometic, much like I have in my Hunter. It sounds like you are fooling with the flint spark lighter that's built in and operated with a little knob inside the
refrigerator.
As far as I could find the flint is an odd size and is no longer available. My solution was to drill a 3/8" hole near the burner for
lighting with a BBQ lighter and I made a cover that covers the hole after it
lights. You will also have to figure our how to hold the pilot safety switch ON while
lighting it.
Did you try it on electric to be sure it works..... BTW: You may have to hold the pilot safety valve ON for a long time to wait for fuel to get to the burner.
