And the leak continues......

OK. I covered the three rivets I thought were the cause of my leak with roof sealer....now it seems the leak is bigger! Starting to spread across the ceiling UNDER the rat fur.....UGGGHHHHH!!!!!! Might just just take out the escape hatch and start over....that way I know it is fixed. Has anyone posted step by step instructions on how to do that?

I think I found the issue. I had scraped off all the silicone around the rivets and put on roof sealer....rained within 3 hours. Apparently it needs to dry for 24 hours before it is waterproof....it all washed off....and it has been raining for 4 days! Hopefully no permenent damage or issues (like mold) come up! At least I know what to fix yet!

Well Cricket, I'm glad you're tracking down the problem. You know I hate silicone. The major problem is nothing sticks to silicone except silicone. When you finally get everything dried out and the weather clears up, I'd suggest pulling the vent and sealing it properly.

Ugh!! Well, it's not proving to be an impossible fix, just a PIA fix !

Water leaks seem to be the most difficult to track down, and sillycone does not help!

The most frustrating part is I have to wait for two things. #1) it has to stop raining for a 24 hour period of time and #2) it has to be warmer than 65 degrees....neither of which appear to be in the forecast....I am just terrified I will end up with mold.....believe me...as soon as it is warmer and dry, I will have it open to the wind with fans on high!

If it is in a protected area, can you can run a small fan inside it?

Can you put a bucket or tote or something over the top vent and tie it down somehow?
