I'm tinkering around with the idea of making my own awning and tent room for my trailer. I'm wondering how the major awning manufacturers attach the tent room and skirting onto the trailer so that it is rainproof and bugproof. (I also need to insure that my design is doggie-escapeproof so I'll need to include flooring as well.) I understand that some designs attach the tent walls to the awning using either velcro or zippers, but again, my question relates to how the tent attaches to the trailer wall itself. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

There are snaps on the trailer. Male half on the trailer body and female half on the add a room walls.
Usually the walls attach to the roof with a zipper or velcro.

A good explanation of the add-a-room can be found on Gord100's Trillum Trailer webpage
