We have been to several RV service centers in the Seattle area and each one of them told us that there is not enough space between the top of the door and the top of the TT to install an awning...how can this be? (7"+ of space over the entry door which then tapers down a few inches in either direction.) We have seen several TTs from the 80's, including 1986 specifcally which is our year, which have awnings. Is it possible that our TT is so much different from the others as to not allow an awning to be installed or are these RV centers just not wanting to deal with an older rig? None of them even bothered to take a straight edge and measure the possible length across needed for an awning, but due to the unusual "peak" of our Bigfoot, just said "no, no it can't be done." Anyone who can help with info on the make of awning they have on an 80's model Bigfoot TT, will be greatly appreciated.

BTW - what exactly is a "curved" awning rail? When I "thought" that I did my research prior to purchasing the TT by telephoning several RV service centers, a couple of times I heard "it might require a curved track/rail" for the awning. However, the centers we have been to so far, looked perplexed when I mentioned a "curved" awning rail. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what the difference is between a 1985 and a 1986, but you may want to check this topic out: Awning issues '85 BF

Thanks Donna D., very helpful and we also finally heard from Mark at Bigfoot following their "very long," holiday weekend (I am jealous). Good news is that we can add an awning, so soon we will be good to go.
