I agree. I was just trying to show another example of what I was suggesting. We also don't need a 10,000 btu unit for our little eggs. There are smaller lighter ones available.

That's not portable in my book.

The 5000 BTU window unit I have is 36lbs I think? And I'd bet a fraction of the size of that "portable". I'd put a box around one of those small units instead if you don't have the room for a permanent install.

But the price is good and capacity is great, if you think managing 90 lbs of big ol' AC unit is not a problem.
Hi Dylanear,
When it's hot out and I want to be cool, 90 lbs is nothing!
I was just getting to post that exact air conditioner on this thread. They are not as efficient as the window type.
By portable, they are on wheels to move from room to room, or place to place in a camper.
I like your idea of placing a small unit in a closet though. Probably less expensive and more permanent/better looking.
Have a great weekend!
Lew

I hear ya, just pointing out the bulk and weight compared to other options, a big "portable" would be a huge use of space in my little 13. Wouldn't want anyone surprised when the UPS truck arrived with a BIG, HEAVY box.

Far from my idea, a trick I learned of on here from the many helpful souls who've done it in the past.
