Bargman door locks

As some of you know, I am in need of a replacement table for my trailer and I am always looking.... So, here in Red Lake, ON I have found two(2) that may be of use. I have also seen two(2) Bargman 300 door locks that may be available.
QUESTION.... Can these door locks be re-keyed or can the tumbler cylinder from a lock be removed and replaced? If so, I will try to buy the units and recycle them through FGRV.
I am here for a few days and I will be checking back on this thread for advice. Thanks in advance. Scouter Dave

A good locksmith should be able to make a key. The lock cylinder can also be replaced if one can be found at a reasonable price. Grab them if you can.

Pretty sure Tom Griebe over on the Facebook page has responded to questions re trailer locks in some detail... sounded like he knew what he was talking about, at least as it applied to UHaul CT's and similar. [I'm still new to using the 'search' feature very well, or I'd try to find his post.]

Perhaps that helps?......

Went back and tried the search just now. This is one out-take from it:

Tom Griebe As noted, the L300 lock is not made anymore and used ones are super expensive. A locksmith can easily make a new key and clean up an old lock. Worst case, there are other manufacturers that make a lock similar enough to the L300 that it can be replaced. Google "Bargman L300 replacement ".

It's Tom G, not Bob. I'm the Bob over on the Uhaul site and I probably don't know anything about anything but I do own 2 extra Bargman L300's

Registry
The new locks have been running more than $250 on ebay.
The 'reconditioned' ones run $150.
If you can get them for better prices, it is worth it.

Safe Travels, Dave!
Thanks for thinking of the FGRV crew

L300

I am now in possession of two(2) Bargman L300 lock assemblies. One may be in need of some internal repair and both need new keys or lock cylinders. I know of a good locksmith and I will check on keys next week when I am in London, ON.

Dave; one thing I did learn with our L300 is that the inside lock will not work unless the key is in the center of it's travel. Did either of those L300's have an end plate?

Sorry but I do not know what you are referring to when you say "end plate".

But I now have three(3) Bargman L-300 lock assemblies c/w keys.
I am still travelling and making my way home [eastbound] and I will post pictures and more information when I get there and get settled in.
