As you probably already know, those are pretty rare...but assuming you still have the old one and it just doesn't work, rebuild kits are available. Link

Good luck!

IF you're painting, etc. NOW is the time to change the door lockset to something more current and available. The Bargman L-400 is an ongoing major issue for those that need/want that style. I see the "repair" kit is going on eBay for $175. YEOW!

Chirs as the others have said -VERY hard to find. I have seen them go for as much as $300. Give team Trillium (Tillium Outback) in Calgary a call they have been known to help a number of people out finding replacement items that work.

watch ebay, there is a lock cylinder for sale there now. Any vintage camper places in your area that salvages old trailers. I was able to get a couple L300's on ebay for around $60, others are for sale at over $200.

L400 also known as the sadbluefaces hardware. Unless you are trying to restore to original, it might be more fruitful to modify your door to fit a newer lock-thingie.

I had one of these in my Burro, too, and got a little more life out of it by taking it apart and doing some TLC. But it was clearly only a matter of time before it broke at an awkward time.

So I went with the model shown above here, did some fiberglass sculpting to accommodate the different footprint, and now probably have another 25 or so years before I have to worry about my door latch breathing its last.

As a perhaps useful side note, and assuming you have an L400 that just needs new innards/repair:

When I got my Trillium way back when I didn't know/think there was anything special about the (next size up) Bargman doorlock, which didn't work. In my blessed state of ignorance I took it out and to an oldtimey locksmith with a shop full of parts...He fixed the innards and supplied me with new keys cut on original Bargman blanks, and as I recall the whole thing cost me around twenty bucks or so.

Point is, if you live in an area where there's a locksmith shop that's been around for years you might take yours to them and try your luck.

But don't start right off by telling them how "rare" the darn things are or you might find yourself paying "rare thing" prices!
