Best Paint for Ensolite ?

I want to paint the interior of my ' 73 boler (Ensolite).I have removed the seam tape and filled the gap.
I live in Winnipeg,,-35 to +120 degrees.
Which paint is best ?
I understand some members have used ;Tremclad,Melamine or Acrylic Latex.
When my Wife saw the Skull & Crossbones on the can of Tremclad , it went back !!!
Canadian Tire tells me there are 2 types of Melamine,,Oil base and Latex.They recommend the Latex variety.
Semi-gloss Exterior Acrylic Latex sounds like a possibility.
I also have to paint the door interior (Fiberglass.) Do I use the same paint ?

Which have you used and how did it work out ?

I used melimane oil base on the interior of my previous 17FT Boler.I did not try to paint the inside fiberglass.

Hey Andy,

We're the opposite, eh? Need to withstand 110 degree heat.

We've been out for 2 5-day trips so far with the renovated Scamp and we're having no issues with paint chipping or flaking off.

We painted the complete interior of our Boler 5 years ago with oil based melamine cupboards ensolite and all. It still looks like it was just done.

Well after pondering the problem for some time,I decided to go with a 100% Acrilic Latex Kitchen & Bath mould resistant paint.
Just put on 2 coats and it sure looks good.
If it ever stops thunder showering long enough to let it dry well,I can put everything back in and bask in the glow of success !

Hi Andy,

Did you paint the fiberglass door? I started painting my 73 boler yesterday with a latex kitchen and bath paint. I plan to do the door as well as inside the cupboards. I did a test area in the closet and seems to be just fine.

Yup,I painted the Ensolite,insides of the door,cabinet and cupboards.
So far so good !

What did you use to paint it with? I have found a brush vs roller works best but very time consuming. I finally finished the first coat last night and am dreading another coat but it needs one. Some areas I used a paint brush but it sure takes a long time. Other times I switched back and forth from foam roller and regular roller. Not sure what I think about that. Does not fill in as well and is messy as far as splashing....

Any words of wisdom from anyone to make the second coat of paint less painful on me???

Hi Robin,
I used a regular roller on the large areas,a short high density foam roller in the inside corners and a brush as required.
The first coat took much more paint than the second as it got sucked up.I didn't do a 3rd coat as it looks good after 2 and almost finished off the gallon.
I think you'll find the 2nd coat easier to do than the first.

We both have White/Green bolers.
Are those car tires ? What size ?

Hi Andy - thanks for the info - I might quit dreading the 2nd coat now
As far as the tires - I just replaced them and I believe they are a 13" trailer tire.
