Big foot leaf springs

I'm looking for replacement leaf springs for my 1983 17' BFF. Does some one have a part # and dealer name?
It would be easier this way than to repair the ones I have. I've called Big foot and told me to call Standens in Alberta. They gave me some numbers but they seem to long. I've sent Emco IND an email, but no response.
Thank you.

I would have a Standens or Dexter dealer look at and measure your originals and have them order the replacement parts. That way, if there is a mistake, it's on them.

Try etrailer or a local spring company. We have Albany Spring up the road in Albany NY and they will make leaf springs or coil springs to spec. Basically for leaf spring they need eye to eye measurement and number of leafs, at least, that's what I think they go from. I've had them make leaf springs for me for a boat trailer years ago and I was surprised how reasonable the cost was.

Best of luck to ya!

springs

Thanks for the feed back. I was reading a thread from you trainjunkie from last year. You had problems with your springs and had a replacement shipped to you. You posted a part number. And mentioned Emco ind.
I was just hoping there was a readily available spring off the shelf.
I will find a spring manufacture and hopefully they will help.
Thanks again.

There probably is an off-the-shelf spring that will fit your BF but I strongly suggest you have a shop do the measuring and order the springs if they don't already have them. I wouldn't bank on different year Bigfoots having the same springs, or even ones of the same year, so don't trust some other BF owner's part numbers.

I would just have a shop get all the critical dimensions to make sure you get the right springs. Or, go the route Francois did and have them made. Looks like his shop there in BC did a good job.
