Actually it is the first time in my 4 years here that I feel uncomfortable about this forum so I cant imagine as to how someone who is new to posting to this form might feel about it. Would sure make me reluctant to ask for suggests or help here again.

I have asked a moderator to take a look at it as I personally think it needs to be addressed either in the thread it happen or under the Elegance of Behaviour thread. Havent hear back from them as yet.

Ah, thank you.

Now for my comment. Someone definitely acted improperly. Even personal friends shouldn't and don't get involved in a persons business dealings unless asked.

I wouldn't consider it an ominous black cloud over posting on this site or on the internet. Even though it appears like we are anonymous on the internet, it is an illusion. Each person can be tracked down and at least identified down to the computer. Posting identifiable personal information makes it easier for non tech people to identify us. Sometimes, as in your case, just mentioning an identifiable vehicle is enough for a person to research the individuals because this is such a small population of people and vehicles.

If the site mangers can identify the person, I hope they will address the mis-conduct with him. Depending on what they know about the individual and how he responds, I would trust their judgement in deciding what is appropriate. It could be anything from just a verbal reprimand up to banning him from the site.

I am sorry this happened to you and want to assure you that I have found this site to be well managed by responsible people.

I couldn't find that thread "Eligance of Behaviour". Is it hiding somewhere or is it under a different name? I don't recall anything in the rules covering face to face interactions and involving yourself in someone else's business and transactions. Maybe we now need such, maybe not. Most of us understand the implied restrictions.

Ok, now I found it. My tired mind and the site search function couldn't recognize the miss spelled elegance. After search failed to find it, I was also looking in the FAQ which is where I expected to find general behavior guidance.

I rarely go into the forums, I just click on "New Posts" and read most of them.
