bigfoot 17 ceiling seperation

Hi

I just bought a 1990 bigfoot 17. When I got it home I noticed the ceiling material is separating. The separation starts from the roof vent and spreads out about 1 foot on each side of the vent.
I took a picture of it. The picture doesn't look as bad as it actually is.

Any Ideas how I could fix this?

Could I just put a big sunroof in? or would this weaken the roof?

Is it just the fabric covering that has become un-bonded from the insulation layer? Could it be re-glued with some spray 3m adhesive? I would suspect that water intrusion caused the failure due to the proximity to the roof opening. Re-sealing the vent may stop further problem if that is in fact what happened. I would not remove the vent fan. It a nice functional feature. A skylight would provide light, but would also cause heat loss.

As Russ says, you need to pull the vent and fix the leak first.
When you have it apart you will find a 1/8" paneling glued to 1" foam.
It will need to be completely dry. Use some contract cement, following instructions.
If panel is damaged beyond repair, cut out damaged area and glue in new piece.
Or replace entire panel.

and that is the first thing that happens with water intrusion.....I would guard against jumping to conclusions...."delamination" can happen without water intrusion....I have a smallish spot where the liner has come away from the insulating layer.....sh##t happens... ain't the end of the world....lots of fixes...and could be a good excuse for an improvement of some sort....."don't sweat the small stuff"...Cheers, F

Thanks for all your advise. I am going to take the Vent off tomorrow to get a closer look. Hopefully all I need to do is seal the vent to stop the water leaking in. Then spay some glue in the separation area and press it down (up).
