Black lines from windows

Could someone please tell me what the black runoff lines are from that appear down the side and below the windows? Is it from the butyl or the aluminum frame? How do I prevent it?
Thx all you experienced ones!
Dave

My take on the Black Stuff is that it is dirt that collects on the edges of the putty tape that, in turn, bleeds off and runs down the sides. I use "Gel-Gloss" to clean it off and I also try to clean the exposed edges of the putty tape on occasion.
BTW: If you use a good cleaner/wax product on a regular basis it's a lot easier to remove the black stains.
But that's only MHO, others will vary.....

They're very easy to get off a RedMaxPro-coated surface. Shhh, don't tell anybody!

Thx guys,
I did use the Zep treatment. The stain is still a bit tough to clean, especially on the paint on the repaired belly band. I would like to stop the mess. Anyone have a way to seal the butyl? Or the cleaned aluminum?

Hi: indigodave... AAh those pesky "Black streaks". They're put there by the trailer "Gods" just to remind us that having fun has its price!!! I use a squirt of Fantastic spray on them when washing our Escape 5.0... Wipes 'em out quickly... but they'll be back!!! As for sealing the areas where they occur... a good wax jobs helps, but again... they'll be back. I even get black streaks down the sides of my white pickup truck. Must be white truck "Gods" too!!!
Ever wonder where the rubber goes when your tires wear down???

Thx Alf,

I guess I just have to live with the streaks. Yuck. Still have not had the Trill on the road so maybe it is not road dust just air dust! Thought it might from the aluminum. o well.
Does the Fantastic eat away the Zep treatment?

About to do hinge repair now based on P.Raz approach from 2011 posts.

Thx

Dave

I use a mixture of water and bleach. Apply, let stand 15 minutes, wash off Apply again wait 15 minutes and if the black, green and other contaminates are gone I use one of those hose attached brushes that you can get at Warehouse stores and wash it down with Turtle Wax (Wash and Wax) and I get a clean and shinny camper.
