Black spots on hull

Well, I was able to take some time and wash our scamp for the first time today. During washing and inspection I found a couple things.

1: every window and seam has some sort of sealant applied to it. From what I've read here, it's not needed. Is that correct? Most of it appears in fairly rough shape.

2: the roof is covered in black spots that I was unable to scrub off with a cloth and automotive soap. Any ideas what this stuff is, and how to get it off? I'm attaching a couple pics for reference.

the black stuff is probably some mold that seems to love the fiberglass trailers and boats. Try a mix of bleach and water and that should remove it. Yours is not bad, mine was pretty bad.

I had initially thought mold as well, but my better half said she didn't think so because this thing sat out in the sun all day.

Any ideas on what causes this mold, is it just lack of maintenance by a PO?

try some Barkeepers Friend to clean and then apply some Zep or ReddMaxx to keep it clean.
