Does any one have any ideas for blocking out sunlight? I've been considering using room darkening fabric with elastic around the window frame. I would appreciate any suggestions. jamessue

I just bought a '73 Bell to join my Compact Jr. and it had cardboard with velcro attached to all windows! This is a very light, cheap solution! Good luck.T

we have the night time accordian shades and also limo tint, works very well. If your not in a position to prchase them than the only alternative besides a very wooded lot is to position your trailer to keep you out of the morning sun. How bout changing your waking hours,???? oh yeah they already are, ha,.... come south for a few months?????

An RV brand called an Edge has foil type reflective window covers (inside) that pull down. There must be a manufacturer for those somewhere..

We've been trying to get around to do something else for awhile but still we have some sunblock material cut to size for each window and the door and the ceiling fan. We use small magents to secure it to the screws around the windows. makes it like a cave inside even during the day.

Instead of shielding the windows, why not try night shades for yourself? I know a lot of shift workers that swear by them and they are cheap!

Are you trying to totally block the sun or simply shade and keep out the heat.

To shade and keep out the heat I made window covers out of black sun blocker material sold in hardware stores. It's like the material that big rigs use on their windows. I sewed tape all around the edges. I then removed a screw from the window frame and ran it through a piece of velcro before putting it back in the frame. I took the opposing velcro and sewed it to the window cover in a spot to match the one on the window frame. I did this top and bottom. I simply stretch the cover across the window attaching it to the four pieces of velcro. It keeps the sun out and quite a bit of heat as well. I can see out just the same but no one can see in unless it's night time with a light on inside.

Here's picture from the inside to show you can see out. Then a picture of one of the covers. It's wrinkled from being folded in the cupboard but stretches out nicely on the window. It looks like a tinted window from the outside.

I made curtains out of "blackout" material at a fabric store. Mine is a cream color and the backing is actually white.. the thick stuff is great just cut out your curtain shapes no sewing needed, cafe rods and those pinch ring curtain hooks will do the trick. i have an elastic cord that runs along the bottom of the curtain to keep it against the wall. this stuff blocks out some heat too. then i have another thin guaze patterned cotton curatin over it for extra decor which is simply for looks

That's what we do.

Then about noon we pull over under a tree, or in some quiet shaded area, prepare a nice lunch, then have a nap before continuing on.

Just seems to make the day go better.
