blue trillium tape

hi all,
i know that someone somewhere said they removed the old cracked blue stripe on their trillium with a hair dryer and scraper. This does not seem to be working for me. It took about 1/2 hour to get 3" off. Also tried a heat gun, paint remover, and acetone. I would like to remove it before compounding and polishing this weekend.
Any other good ides???
thanks, marjie

It was a pain!!! But I used a heat gun and a paint stirrer. The wooden paint stick didn't dig into the fiberglass. You just have to make sure once you find the right amount of heat and it comes off to keep going as long as you can. Get a comfortable seat it is going to take awhile . I got as much off as I could then I used GOOF OFF. And it cleaned right up.
