I am preparing to repair the leaking window in the bathroom of my
Boler 1700. This will be my first window work. It is a Hehr crank-out window. I am looking for confirmation on which gaskets to order and advice on which rivets to drill out to remove the window.
Photos of existing window/gaskets below.
My Plan
1. Order Seals from Vintage Trailer Supply:
VTS-199: Hehr Standard Backframe Gasket
VTS-195: Hehr Standard Glass Seal (there is currently no seal on the glass)
2. Remove window from trailer:
I'm not sure which rivets are holding the window itself together and which are holding the window to the trailer.
*Rivets in each corner visible on both interior and lower exterior They do not go through anything on the exterior (you can see the edge of one in the gasket photo below.) I cannot see the upper corners on the exterior.
*A row along the top exterior, not visible on the interior.
*Rivets under the existing gasket on three sides, also not visible on the interior.
3. Clean window/trailer of old putty/gaskets/gunk
4. Install new gaskets, seal with butyl tape and screw back onto trailer with stainless steel screws.
