I am coming close to finishing my boler renos - I was wondering what the options out there were for the poles that hold up the top bunk. I got the upholstery professionally done with new foam and am not really wanting to get the dents in the front of the couch from the poles when the top bunk is set up.
Any suggestions???

thanks,
Robin

Read a few post where people used shower curtain brackets, and wooden dowel to support the bunk. Check out this awesome reno job. THere are good pictures and ideas.

You can also buy the buy the bunk poles from Scamp Trailers, apparently they fit Boler's

I think I'm understanding what you're asking. On my Scamp the top (or back support cushion/plywood) actually sat behind the bottom cushion. When the top was flipped up to create the top bunk, the bottom cushion was then pushed toward the front of the trailer (where the top cushion had been). That left about 2-3 inches in the front of the bottom cushion, plenty of room for the poles to fit into the brackets on the bottom gaucho deck. Since they didn't touch the cushions, nothing got smooched.

Bad description, but is this what you're asking

Yes, but in my boler there is a 'banana' cushion that goes along the back curve of the boler...so when in place, the couch cushion does not push back. so the poles make an indent in the cushion. Now - not sure if the indent will eventually stay there or not but i pd alot of $ and don't want to find out the hard way!

Robin, I too find that this bottom cushion is a bit big for the space provided but by I do not worry about the indent but if I did I wouldn't put the banana cushion in and deal with the gap or how about useing the banana cushion on the front part of the bunk, curved side out so or even standing on its side so this is the one touching the pole?
Just some sugestions.

Thanks Gerry,
I will have to try a few different things. I suppose it won't leave a permanent dent but I don't want to find out the hard way. I am probably already being to anal about the cushion...who knows...maybe won't even let anyone sit of them anyhow
