This was discussed a long time ago before hacking. We removed the door hinges and didn't note whether no.1 or no.2 was on the top . Does anyone remember?

I don't remember, but if you have the hinges and want to know where they go you can tell by looking at them. The hinges are different only because they are designed to follow the curve of the trailer body, while keeping the pivot axes (bolts) vertical.

With the hinge assembed and held in place against the trailer, the right hinge for that location will be the one in which the bolt is vertical; the bolts of the two hinges will line up with each other when both are installed.

I'll try to remember to check my Boler tomorrow - it is a later year and larger size, but my guess is that the hinges are the same.

They're numbered? I bought new ones from Scamp and I don't remember there being numbers on them. I will have to ask hubby if he remembers numbers.....Oh dear, more confusion.....

Now here we see why I would rather look at angle of the hinges than go by the numbers: while Con has #1 on the top, my 1979 B1700 has #1 on the bottom (and #2 in the top position). Mine are in the correct positions, but I'm sure Con's are as well. It may have varied by factory, by year, by batch of hinges, or by the mood of some installer, for all we know.

Update on Edit:
Even with Con's correction (next post, below), I would look at the hinges to make sure the position made sense.

Thanks all. The hinges are re-installed 2 on the top 1 on the bottom. The door fits much better now.
