Boler Wheel and Tire

Hi,Was going to upgrade my Boler wheels from the 12's that were on it when I bought it to a nice set of 14's I have.Any body using 14's and if so what size tires would you recomend as to not hit the wheel wells or anything.
Thanks Craig

Craig, does your Boler have the original axle? That may make a huge difference. How much fist bump room do you have using the original tires and wheels?

...not all trailers (even ones of the same species) sit at the same height and therein lies the issue. If you can or cannot go to larger wheel/tire size will depend on this opening size.

Our Trillium sits high enough to enable the use of 14in. aftermarket (automotive) rims and 6 ply truck tires. Check out the wheels n rims in my trailer profile shown here.

Check out http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...n-25724-2.html, especially post #19 on page 2.
Roy in TO compared three 13" wheels and the tires are all different diameters.

Wow ,sure is a lot of info on tires there Frederick,Im am using the original axle,so it looks like the 14's might be out of the question.I guess that's why the guy had Princess auto 12's on it ,They were close to the original 13's.I'll have to size it all up when I'm ready for wheels.right now its sitting on 10's cut out of 3/4 steel plate to get it into my Garage.

Thanks everyone for the help
Craig

I'm having trouble locating rims for my Boler--13", 4lug, 4". No spare at this point so I just bought two 12" wheels and tires at a farm implement store. My plan is to use them as spares until I find a 13" wheel (been told I can do this if I drive slowly, like a doughnut spare). The slight difference in height is enough to let me get the Boler into my garage (hence, the reason for two).

For a long time, until I found a proper sized 13" tire and rim, I carried a 15" temporary doughnut for a spare. It was almost the same height as my 13" trailer tires and can be found at parts yards for $5 or less.

My Fiber Stream has always had 12" wheels. I've towed it for 7 years and I'm guessing over 20 or 30 thousand miles with only 1 blowout. I believe that having 4 wheels (double axles) might mitigate the smaller wheel size, but I don't fear using them. I always drive 55 mph when towing.
