We're thinking we may have to boon-dock for about 7 days. One question is..............does anyone have a clue if the battery will last this long without a charge, assuming that we only use it for lighting at night?
Next question:
Has anyone taken their trailer to Mexico? My husband is a bit nervous about taking it down there. Should we get extra insurance? Or anything else?
Thanks for any help!

Presuming your battery is in reasonably good shape and charged, and you don't leave lights on when you aren't using them, the battery should be good for that. I have literally gone weeks without recharge, but am very frugal and use a small fluorescent light for reading in bed.

For Mexico traveling tips, I suggest you do some reading in the appropriate forums of RV.NET where there should be a lot of info, and perhaps also at escapees.com.

I would echo what Pete said. At www.rv.net/forum/ scroll to near the bottom of the opening page and there is a subforum "Rving in Mexico and South America" with over 25,000 posts. I would also recommend buying the book "Traveler's Guide to Mexican Camping" by Mike & Terri Church.

YES

Warning!
The above videos are interviews with one insurance provider. The general information given, however, is important.
For more choices just do an internet search for "Mexico Auto Insurance".
While I have not driven in Mexico for some time, I remember that you need to list both your Tow Vehicle And Trailer.
