I agree, this upgrade takes a bit of skill and experience. Compared to the CAD, machining and welding required for the electric brake conversion I did, it is much simpler.

Bob, I believe the flex hoses and the solid lines are included with the brake line kit.

Kevin did it, Bob. It took a bit of time, but he IS a home handy person. Yes, he has experience rebuilding/restoring VW motors, but his real job is school superintendent.
I was advocating putting on a new axle and electric brakes (still like the idea of something that is not proprietary), but this was cheaper, and I can tell the difference with these working surge brakes that he put together. Nice, soft stops without the clunking and jerking that was there before. It was hard to find the coupler thingy though, but we were trying to install a used UHaul surge brake we got on ebay. Kevin will have to tell you where he finally found the part we needed and how he put it together. I know he had to change holes to fit.
