brass plate left of Boler's door

Hey, can anyone tell me if this brass plate is functional and original. It is attached with adhesive to the left of the door, but doesn't seem to serve any purpose. We have decided to paint the Boler, so we need to decide if it should be replaced. Thanks.

Peggy, I can't see any of the pictures you're trying to post. It appears you're trying to link to your album and the thumbnails are too small...

brass plate

Here is that adhesive brass plate, just to the left of the Boler door. Hope you can now see the photo. I'm wondering if it is original, and what is it for? Thanks for the help.

brass plate

Peggy, I saw sales brochure a while ago for Boler Trailers in the 70`s and one of the pitures of the right side had that plack on it. It had Voyageur 1300 silk screened on the plack as I can rember.

If you want to leave it on, you could etch or paint your nam on it.

brass plate

We have decided to paint the Boler 17, so I was wondering if that brass plate should be saved. If it was original, then I'd like to keep it-but if it had a logo on it, it is clearly no longer visible. Have decided we are just not the kind of people that will fuss over the gelcoat each year. Thanks.

Peggy, hold on. Paint also requires maintenance. WAX. You'll be fussing over paint instead of gelcoat. Not much difference really. Even if you put a clear coat over the paint... it still needs to be waxed or it burns off. Have you checked out the ZEP threads?
