broken Trillium

Can 2 20in cracks be mended in the rear corners of a 1987 Trillium? My niece did a complete restoration and let someone else hook up and it dropped on the interstate. Broken rear window and a 3 in. whole was the damage. Along with the diagonal crack bottom corner and inthe upper corner diagioal corner. Any suggestions? Can it be helped? Who can do this kind of work? She is not able to do it herself. Does she take it to a boat or car body repair place?

What a sad story. It sounds like no one was hurt, at least that's good. I'm sure your trailer is fixable. By who and for how much I can't say. Many people here have re fiberglassed things so someone will give you good advice. I've put so much work into our trillium this story is really scary. Sorry for your troubles, good luck.

Not sure where you (or niece's trailer) are located, but a boat repair place is the best bet. Get several estimates. You may have to wait until boating season is over, though.

Mending, done properly, will make her good as new.

Once the fiberglassing is done, then you can replace the window.

:conf They hooked it up where the tongue wasn't caught? how did the back end get broken. someone hit it? Not really wanting all the gruesome details, just enough so I don't repeat the same mistake. I am so sorry this happened.

Trillium repair

Lisa,
Two years ago we were pulling our Trilium in rush hour traffic around the loop in Washington DC. The cap split and came off the ball. The trailer went down on the jack wheel which came apart and the jack dug in. The safety chains broke and the trailer went free and ran into the guard rail. It wiped the propane tank off and smashed a hole in the right front corner of the camper. :cry

The damage was considerable but I was able to repair it with fiberglass and we are back on the road.

This is not a close up but the damage was on the front corner and as you can see it looks fine now.
So repair that thing and we will see you on the road again. :yep

P.S. It was raining too!!!!!!
