Broken window pane on boler...

Is there a way to fix this without taking out the entire window assembly? Ideally I'd like to get away with putting the new pane in without removing the whole window because I'd rather redo all the seals at the same time...

Also on my to do list is to get rid of the ugly lock system and get a new exterior door handle. What is the ideal method to fill in the holes? Bondo?

I'm headed to southern Texas in a month and I'd like to get away with not having to do too much until after the trip.

Another thought... if I can get away with replacing the pane without removing the whole window... is there a certain kind of Plexiglas that people prefer? Does anyone have pictures of it tinted?

That looks like a standard Scamp door lockset: Outside Door Handle. If you need a key, you could order the handle/lock from Scamp then take the hasp, etc. off and fill the holes with Marine/Plastic Fiberglass Repair Epoxy or something similar.

I don't have jalousie windows, can't help there...

Gad! I SHOULD have told you this is the same type of handle found on many garage doors. I replaced the one on my Scamp a number of years ago. It's now the "T" shape. The shaft was the exact same, except too long. The locksmith I bought the garage door handle from just put it in a vice and cut it off to the same length as the Scamp one I took in for comparison. Even the screw holes matched up. And yes, it also has a key.

SORRY!

If you look at the bottom edge of the frame around the window you will probably see a screw in each corner. Undo the screw and the bottom of the frame should come off. Remove the frame part, the broken glass and the rubber seal. A glass shop should be able to cut a new piece of glass. Reinstall the glass the way you took the broken pieces out. It is not plex. I'm sure if you went to a glass shop w/ the trailer they would be able to replace the broken pane for you for a nominal charge.

I ordered a new handle (and a few other small parts) for my Boler from Scamp last year. Not sure how you did it, but would suggest you place your order by phone. If you order via the internet it is automatically charged UPS delivery. Ordering by phone got me USPS service which was substantially cheaper. Something to consider if you wish to order in the future...

At about 4 min 50 seconds into this video I demonstrate where the screws for the windows are located. It may be similar on your trailer
