Building your own rock guard?

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on building a rock guard for your eggs.
Researching replacing the guard by a fabricated one finds me sticker shocked, as they seem to be between $200-300! With so much else to do to the trailer this seem ludicrous.
The current idea is corrugated plastic with a frame made of 1x1 boards, however I'm not sure if the physics of highway speed rock protection will work out.

Hi Cat. A number of members have made or remade rock guards for their trailers. Using the search feature at the top of the page and choosing the google search option will produce lots of reading. Here's a nice one made by Barrie Bochoff. Raz

Thank's Raz.
I tried this and got no results that seemed to be related back. I'll keep trying.

Then too, some call them a gravel guard (Scamp does).

With search it's all about the details
