Talking Bunk Bed 13' Scamp

Is there a secret for the bunk beds in my Scamp? When I set it up, the top bunk falls down easily. How is it installed and what amount of weight will the top bunk hold?

Thanks,
Emily

It shouldn't be doing that something is wrong. Is the top hinged at the back and make sure you have your poles the right way up - the hoops attached to the sticking out screw under the top bunk and the bottoms in the metal holders?
I don't travel with my bunks set up though.
We may need pics if all of above sound right.
I know they don't have a really high weight limit (under a 100 lbs?) but they are good for small children . I use mine for storing bags etc and they never fall down.

I have the metal poles in the bottom metal holders. The back of the cushion that is supposed to fit firmly to the interior wall doesn't stay up. Am I missing screws or brackets? There is only a slight ledge.

Are there supposed to be hinges that fit up to the wall?

If it's like my 19', yes. the back cushion should have a board inside it, and a piano hinge attached to that and the trailer. I'm 240 lbs, and can easily lay on the bunk, without it even flexing.

Just be careful. Scamp doesn't rate the upper bunk for that amount of weight. Remember, the ledge is just fiberglassed to the body and there's not a whole lot of coverage.

Don't want to see anyone get hurt. Especially the poor person who is sleeping on the bottom bunk when the upper falls!

This message isnt targeted to you Jared, it's a reminder to all.
