Hi all ,

I have a 79 boler 1300. When I bought it the owner had a table in the space between the two seats at the front. There was no back cushion or hinge, or bunk hardware. It almost looks like it was never made to have a bunk. It did have the wood piece to attach the hinge too. (now a shelve) Even the original cushions fit perfectly without an area for the uprights to be attached.

Was this an option back then could you buy a boler without a bunk? With the gap in the seats and no indication of hardware ever being atached I wonder?

Never heard of it. Best indication that it is a modification is the zipper on the "banana" cushion. If it were the original design, that zipper would be against the wall.

There should be a deeper ledge under the window that the back would hinge on to and there should be mounting brackets on the front edge of each seat bench that poles are set into. The top of the poles link to the front of the seat back once it is elevated into position.

Looks like a well done front table mod.

That has been well done and I like the nice bright colours.

Here's a similar mod that was done to ours. The seat cushion has been cut into three pieces and the table can be placed back into the space between the two seats to make a single bed. The backrest used to hang from the woodwork that's under the window but is stored in the garage for the next owners. At the other end we made a permanent bed.
Originally the seat cushion was one piece and there was a board in the groove between the seats, Also there was a door on the front and this was a space provided to keep a small porta poti.
