Thumbs up

We've ordered a 16' Freedom Standard Casita (pickup in April 2010), which has a set of bunk beds up front. Unlike the Spirit model optional bunk beds which has a long metal safety rail built into the top bunk bed, the front bunks do not have a rail or ladder.

We're hoping someone out there with a similar bunk bed setup in a fiberglass RV can recommend a commercial off-the-shelf rail (or strong netting) that can be easily set up and stored away when the bunks are not in use (i.e., folded back into a couch). It won't be possible to construct anything yet, since we don't have the camper for exact measurements and to evaluate where to secure a homemade rail. So we need something we can purchase now for our trip to Dallas, TX, for trailer pickup.

Thanks so much for any suggestions!

here was my solution...went to babies r us and purchased a child/toddler bed rail kind of like what donna posted. I bought the taller version...ther are 2 different ones. When I flip up the back of the couch to make a bed I unzip the back of the couch bunk and slid the 2 legs in between the cushion and the wood. When he wants up or down I can easily manuver the rail as it flips kind of like a sun visor would in your car. For storage I flatten the rail and store it behind the back side of the couch as it flips down...there seems to be about 3 inches that allow for this. However I have noticed a "denting" in the ensolite where the rail rests. If my ocd kicks in I remember to wrap a towel around it..can take photos if you need let me know

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll take a trip to Toys R Us and see what's in stock. Have to remember the towel!
