I think "12V for truckers" have it for half that amount, do some research. CW even sells them, but they have the blanket not the warming pad

We use a top side twin sized electric blanket and it virtually elimintes the need to ever turn a heater on a night. Even with the window and vent open, the concentrated local heat keeps us toasty warm. I susupect a bottom side heater might even be better.

I don't know what Norm's draws, but my electric blanket draws 89 watts set on high. Any setting lower than that cycles on & off...

Steve,
Our blanket draws 160 watts set to full power (10). Other than when we turn it on before bed, usually about 10 minutes, we set it at 3 when we're in bed. Most nights I turn it off sometime during the night.
Of course it may cycle, but it's absolutely silent.
If I were buying anew, I'd probably consider a 12 volt unit providing it has a solid state control that works as well as our AC control.

I am a big fan of the old fashioned snuggling to warm up the bed. That combined with a nice a nice set of sheets, a wool blanket (which is only used when very cold), and a cozy down duvet, keeps me plenty warm all night.
I don't think I have ever tried an electric blanket. I imagine it is like seat warmers in the car. They are on to take the chill out of the leather seats, then off for the rest of the drive.

They work great for warming up the bed before you get in bed. I use to have one in my tear drop. I never used it all night I had a lot of blankets and a sleeping bag for a quilt that kept me nice and toasty for the rest of the night. But it made a huge difference in comfort when i first got in to bed.

About the same answer as Kirkman, bought it for the teardrop, used it a couple times in the Uhaul too. Flannel sheets are also nice in cold weather.

It would be nice to have it pre warm and get rid of the extra moisture. We can warm the bed pretty quickly but that dampness takes awhile.
