My parents would like to give us their 1985 burro. They are concerned that if they do they would be passing on a dead weight to us as the windows need to be replaced among other things, and the company no longer exists. Does anyone know if the windows are replace able and if parts are available still for these little cuties?

Hi Sarah -

New windows can be directly ordered from Hehr windows:

http://www.hehr-international.com/

They manufacture windows for most brands of RV, and most likely made the original ones for your Burro. All you need to do is give them the specs and they will custom make your windows.

Smaller windows cost around $100, and larger ones around $150, to help you estimate. But they will be able to give you exact costs once you give them the sizes and requirements.

I would be interested to here what you find out from them and what the pricing turns out to be. I also have a Burro with some pretty "Foggy" windows.

Thanks

Perhaps repair instead of complete replacement can be done? Windows, as a total, are almost the most expensive change that can be made. Plexiglass can be polished to remove fog and scratches and other parts including cranks (and parts), trim, etc. can be purchased. Check out the Helpful-Links section for vendor help here: Windows and Window Parts

Here's another source for windows, it will be in the Helpful-Links later:
http://www.buccaneermfg.com/ They're located in Hillsboro, Oregon. Do comparison shopping!
